Vitamin D deficiency (VDD) is a well-established cause of musculoskeletal disease. Over the past few decades a growing body of literature has changed our understanding of vitamin D and proposed roles in infectious, immunologic, neurologic, cardiovascular, and respiratory disorders [1].
