Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia type II (HIT) is an immune-mediated, prothrombotic serious adverse event that can occur due to heparin administration. The platelet-activating immune response is triggered by the interaction of heparin with a specific platelet protein, platelet factor 4 (PF4) [
