Sir: Dellinger et al. are to be congratulated on their new Surviving Sepsis Campaign recommendations as published recently in this journal [
1]. The efforts of Dellinger and his group are of great value for all of us who take care of patients with sepsis. Indeed, guidelines like those from the Surviving Sepsis Campaign, an initiative of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, the International Sepsis Forum, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, are very much welcomed and appreciated by the intensive care community. They have been and continue to be an important tool in improving care of septic patients globally. …
