We are pleased that the group from Milan have added more evidence to the debate over laparoscopic versus open incisional hernia repair. They have done well to randomise so many patients and to ensure such good follow-up. Certainly their complication rate in both arms, their return to work and the recurrence rates are in keeping with other studies [1‐3]. …
