The introduction of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) revolutionized abdominal surgery. Laparoscopy dramatically changed the impact of major operations. No longer would undergoing a cholecystectomy mean a week in the hospital and many more weeks until full recovery. These more advanced surgical techniques significantly lessened the impact of major surgery for our patients, reducing complications and accelerating recovery. …
