Excerpt

Intussusception occurs when a proximal segment of bowel (intussusceptum) telescopes into the lumen of the adjacent distal segment (intussuscepiens). It is a relatively common cause of an acute abdomen in the first two years of life, but is uncommon in older children [1]. The diagnosis is rare in adult life, with presentations in adulthood comprising 5% of all intussusceptions and 1% of bowel obstructions [2]. In children it is most commonly idiopathic, in contrast with adults, for most of whom an underlying etiology is found. …

Keynote webinar | Spotlight on medication adherence

Live: Thursday 27th June 2024, 18:00-19:30 (CEST)

WHO estimates that half of all patients worldwide are non-adherent to their prescribed medication. The consequences of poor adherence can be catastrophic, on both the individual and population level.

Join our expert panel to discover why you need to understand the drivers of non-adherence in your patients, and how you can optimize medication adherence in your clinics to drastically improve patient outcomes.
