Intradural lumbar disc herniation is a rare pathological finding in lumbar disc surgery. About 120 patients have been reported in the literature since the first description by Dandy in 1942. The authors add in their article a further nine patients operated at their department with this pathology and give a review of the literature regarding the possible pathogenesis leading to intradural disc penetration and the imaging modalities for discovering this type of herniation. …
