I have read the article by Chen et al. [
1] about the use of vancomycin impregnated bone grafts in infected tibial nonunions. The use of antibiotics and antibiotic impregnated materials in infected cases is a known issue in orthopedic surgery [

6]. Chen et al. have definitely made a relevant contribution to the literature but I think there are questions to be asked regarding this study. Firstly, regarding the technical aspect, I think that a homogenous impregnation of the cancellous bone with antibiotics is not possible just by mixing the two in a jar. …
