Liver and renal dysfunctions: case report

In a retrospective study, an adult patient developed liver and renal dysfunctions during treatment with vancomycin and imipenem [time to reactions onsets not stated; not all routes and dosages stated]. The patient was started on anti-infection treatment which included IV vancomycin 2 g/day over 24h and imipenem, to control severe symptoms of infection and sepsis during the early stage of extremely severe burn. The patient developed renal and liver dysfunctions during the therapy. The patient's vancomycin and imipenem therapy was discontinued. Subsequently, the patient recovered. …
