Neonatal necrotizing fasciitis is a rare and fatal disorder. When there is no initiating event, the condition is called as “idiopathic.” Moreover, the scalp is an uncommon localization for necrotizing fasciitis. Despite the high mortality rate of 70%, early diagnosis and accurate treatment are lifesaving. A 22-day-old girl with idiopathic necrotizing fasciitis of the scalp is presented and the treatment modalities are discussed.
