Hepatocellular adenoma is a rare, benign liver tumour diagnosed predominantly in women on oral contraceptive therapy [1, 2]. Hepatocellular adenoma has also been described in patients taking anabolic androgenic steroids [3] and in those with some inherited metabolic disorders, as type 1 glycogen storage disease [4, 5]. Hepatocellular adenoma is a benign proliferation of hepatocytes in an otherwise normal liver and it constitutes 0.6% of all liver tumours [13]. …
