Hemicrania continua (HC) is a rare syndrome characterized by continuous unilateral pain of moderate intensity with superimposed exacerbations of severe pain with migrainous (throbbing quality, presence of abnormal sensitivity to light and sound, nausea and vomiting) and autonomic features (conjunctival injection, lacrimation, nasal congestion, rhinorrhoea, ptosis, or eyelid oedema). HC is peculiarly responsive to indomethacin. Visual or sensitive auras associated with HC have been reported as very rare atypical feature.
