Beard neonatal hemangioma: report of a PHACE syndrome

A 1-month-old-female infant presented with a vast mandibular hemangioma (see Fig.
1). She was born at term, weighing 3200 g, via vaginal delivery without perinatal complications. On the third day of life, she developed an extensive, red mark on the left and right mandibular regions. There were no cardiac or aortic defects on the echocardiogram. Orbital anomalies and subglottic involvement were excluded by investigations. Cranial MRA revealed several intracranial arterial anomalies: stenosis right cerebral posterior artery, absence of left posterior communicating artery and aberrant course of media cervical artery, in addition, presence of an aneurysm of left carotid artery. No ischemic lesions were detected. In consideration of the MRA reports, a diagnosis of PHACE syndrome was made. We decided to start treatment with Propranolol, at dosage of 0.5 mg/Kg
