Hair-dye allergy: a coloured case

Hair-dye usage in children is becoming more and more common. However, the frequency of allergic contact dermatitis due to the use of permanent hair dye is likely to be underestimated in children, and we suggest that specific regulations should be developed for acceptable levels of paraphenylenediamine in order to prevent hair-dye allergy in adolescents. We report a case of an adolescent girl with severe allergic contact dermatitis after the use of hair dye. …
