1 As the population ages, the number of elderly patients undergoing gastrectomy for GC will continue to increase.
2 Advances in multimodal treatment have improved outcomes of patients with GC. Whether receipt of perioperative chemotherapy confers the same survival benefit among elderly patients undergoing resection has not been well studied. While noncompliance with perioperative chemotherapy might negatively affect outcomes, adverse events after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) may decrease the ability to perform definitive surgery among elderly patients with GC.
