Abstract

Background

Overview of current emergency medicine practice and neurological emergencies.

Conclusions

Emergency medicine physicians review and respond to a manuscript noting the unique time pressures and diagnostic constraints in contemporary US emergency medicine practice. Definitions of error and misdiagnosis are discussed. Proposals are enumerated for practice improvement involving local feedback and educational initiatives.
