Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is a safe, accurate, and cost effective tool for the initial management of thyroid nodules [

4]. The mean reported accuracy of thyroid FNAB is over 76 %, with a range from 53 to 95 % [

6]. A variety of factors can lead to diagnostic errors in the evaluation of thyroid FNABs. One feature that can be a diagnostic challenge is the presence of cells with clear cytoplasm.
