We thank Dr. Madias for his letter concerning our paper on the feasibility of T-wave alternans testing [1]. The tested patients are part of the Twente ICD Cohort Study (TICS) in which we evaluate the value of non-invasive risk markers for prevention of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in implantable cardioverter-defibrillator recipients. At this moment, we are not yet able to provide an answer on the risk of SCD in patients who are unable to test. However, we hope to report on this issue in the near future. …
