We now have more than 100 years of experience, innovation, and hope in repair of hernias since Bassini and Halsted described their methods of inguinal hernia repair in the late 1800s. In this article Faisal Shaikh and his colleagues describe another attempt to deal with the difficult problems that many abdominal hernias present.
