The article ‘Monitoring the Adequacy of Catch-Up Growth Among Moderately Malnourished Children Receiving Home-Based Therapy Using Mid-Upper Arm Circumference in Southern Malawi’ that appears in Maternal and Child Health Journal was primarily written and edited by Nicholas Connor. The field data used for this work were collected as a part of two previous clinical trials, all of which obtained proper ethical approval from the College of Medicine, University of Malawi and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. This article is based on a data analysis completed for a master’s thesis submitted by Nicholas Connor with the supervision and input from Mark Manary in 2008. Mr. Connor, as a junior student, unfamiliar with scientific publishing protocol, then independently proceeded to edit and submit the thesis for publication in Maternal and Child Health Journal. During that process, he neglected to include a Malawian colleague involved in data collection and study design, Ken Maleta, as a co-author and to consult Dr. Manary regarding the final draft. Both Mr. Connor and Dr. Manary do agree with the content of the published article and attest to the integrity of data presented. …
