Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is a severe complication in which various underlying diseases pathologically activate the coagulation system. DIC is characterized by consumptive coagulopathy with severe bleeding, and subsequent multiple thrombi in microvessels can induce organ failure [1]. DIC is rarely associated with solid tumors and occurs in only approximately 10 % of patients between the time of diagnosis of the solid tumor and death [2]. …
