As a prolific writer, Mark Griffiths has shaped our views about the science of human behaviour through his diverse contributions. As an academic avenguard, Griffiths has helped to bring unnoticed psychological and social issues to the forefront of public debate (Griffiths and Orford
2005). He has also contributed significantly to the development of paradigms (Zangeneh and Haydon
2004; Griffiths and Delfabbro
2001) to explain these issues. His vast additions to the body of knowledge have left a lasting imprint on topics such as internet dependency, video game use, exercise addiction, problem gambling and adolescent behaviour. To acknowledge his dedications and his exceptional commitment to science, we have devoted this special issue to his productive work. In this special edition, you will find interesting collection of articles from researchers highlighting some of Griffith’s important work on various facets of psychosocial behaviours.
