Excerpt

This issue of the Journal concludes our fiftieth anniversary year. We have succeeded in publishing a record number of articles of both quantitative and qualitative research combined with essays of a more philosophical character. Our authors, as is typical, have come from a wide variety of cultural settings and from academic and non-academic backgrounds. Our contributors represent both those who have a long-term interest in the Journal as authors, editorial board members, and reviewers of articles as well as a number who are with us for the first time. We are thus both “old” and “new.” As has been the tradition of the Journal, we have continued to demonstrate commitment to high standards of excellence in thought and expression. …
