The pressure to justify medical tools and interventions in terms of their cost effectiveness intensifies with each passing year. Generally, our specialty has responded with good-quality research demonstrating that orthopaedic interventions do not just add quality to patients’ years [3, 4], they also justify society’s investments in those interventions [2, 5]. …
