In collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, I am pleased to devote this special issue to the very important and timely topic of youth violence prevention. To this end, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Jennifer Matjasko, Greta Massetti, and Sarah Bacon of CDC’s Division of Violence Prevention, who served as guest editors and co-authored the issue’s introductory manuscript, to showcase some of the findings of and lessons learned from their grantees. I believe that their experience will be of great value to states or regions that are planning multicomponent youth violence prevention strategies of this nature. …
