Hammerschmidt et al. present the results of their own new economic evaluation of varicella vaccination in Germany[1] and question the conclusions of our review of the literature.[2] We have the impression, however, that Hammerschmidt et al. have somewhat misread — and definitely misinterpreted — our review. We still consider our discussion and conclusion to be appropriate. …
