Eccentric training of painful supraspinatus tendinosis

Jonsson et al. suggest that eccentric muscle training of the supraspinatus and deltoideus muscles might improve shoulder pain like it has improved achilles tendinosis pain. Their material is small and every patient did not get symptom free. It is, however, a very interesting concept. They point out that the histological changes in the supraspinatus tendon are similar to those found in achilles tendinosis. I look forward to further studies from the Alfredson group in Umeå, Sweden. …
