Gastric leak by staple line disruption is the main complication after sleeve gastrectomy (SG) for obesity. Two thirds of gastric leaks occur after hospital discharge [1]. Pathophysiology of these delayed leaks remains debated but is probably related to ischemic mechanisms [2]. Most of these patients present with severe sepsis due to delayed diagnosis. Hence, in order to make an earlier diagnosis, we tried to identify early conditions allowing diagnosis while patients are still hospitalized. …
