In “Defining Promise: Optional Standardized Testing Policies in American College and University Admissions,” [1] the authors make a bold conclusion: students who do not submit their SAT/ACT scores have grades and graduation rates comparable to submitters. They further state that the better predictor of college graduation and college GPA, is high school GPA. This finding gives credence to the growing numbers of experts claiming that standardized testing receives too much emphasis. …
