In the current study, Kang and colleagues report patient expectations for the treatment of thumb trapeziometacarpal osteoarthritis (OA), implementing their 2016 validated one-page, 19-question survey. At first glance, their study states the obvious: Patients tend to choose an injection over surgery, and they have higher expectations for functional return if they choose surgery.
