In late 2006, an outpatient imaging center began its conversion to digital mammography (DM). Part of this transition was a plan to purchase software for computer-aided detection (CAD) to assist in analysis of the digital mammography images. The preparation to purchase one of two systems included a comparison of several specifications, including DICOM compatibility and the ability of the systems to fit well into the digital mammography program of the imaging center. …
