We have read with great interest the study presented by Gruber et al.
1 The authors used a prognostic index (PI) consisting of C-reactive protein (CRP) levels and white blood cell (WBC) counts for a cohort of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) undergoing resection to predict survival and found that the PI is a reliable independent prognostic tool.
