Continuous intra-partum foetal surveillance is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) [
1] for all high-risk pregnancies and these include maternal indications (e.g. preeclampsia, diabetes, vascular diseases), foetal indications (e.g. intra-uterine growth restriction) and where induction and augmentation of labour is done. The primary intent is to reduce the number of perinatal deaths, neonatal encephalopathy and cerebral palsy secondary to intra-partum foetal hypoxia. …
