We are publishing the contribution by Dr. Spyriounis because it takes some courage to present this technique at a time when microscopes seem to be so readily available as are surgeons with microscopic expertise who can use them. It should be realized, however, that in many parts of the world, this is not the case, and the method used and the cases treated by Dr. Spyriounis provide a great example for those who do not have the necessary facilities and equipment. The author, in fact, is very modest because he has achieved good results in extremely difficult situations. …
