The following issues in practice have been identified to demonstrate the learner’s need for the skills and strategies presented in this journal continuing education activity:-
Computer Aided Diagnosis is widely used in Myocardial Perfusion Imaging and form the foundation of data-based quantitative analysis.
-
Since nuclear cardiology studies have led the era of digital imaging it is expected that it will be one of the first imaging modalities to implement clinical decision support systems at the point of care.
-
Future users of these artificial intelligence techniques should understand the principles, benefits, and limitations of the various AI tools.
-
Gaps exist in the knowledge of clinical decision support systems as to how best to integrate information from other cardiac imaging modalities and other pertinent information.
-
Better understanding of these AI/CDSS principles will expedite the acceptance of these powerful tools to improve the health care delivery associated with nuclear cardiology.
