Excerpt

Surveys of internal medicine (IM) interns show that they start residency training feeling unprepared for primary care clinic.1,2 Interns with less or more distant primary care training felt the least prepared.1 However, the generalizability of these findings is uncertain due to their small sample sizes. In addition, no studies have examined what factors would lead students to expand their primary care training during medical school, particularly during their fourth year when they have more elective time.3

WHO estimates that half of all patients worldwide are non-adherent to their prescribed medication. The consequences of poor adherence can be catastrophic, on both the individual and population level.

Join our expert panel to discover why you need to understand the drivers of non-adherence in your patients, and how you can optimize medication adherence in your clinics to drastically improve patient outcomes.
