Die optimale postoperative Behandlung von Patienten mit lokal fortgeschrittenen kutanen Plattenepithelkarzinomen der Kopf-Hals-Region ist noch ungeklärt. Bei erhöhten Risiken für ein Rezidiv ist die adjuvante Radiotherapie (RT) etabliert. In Analogie zur Therapie der mukosalen Plattenepithelkarzinome dieser Region wird aber auch eine adjuvante Radiochemotherapie (RCT) empfohlen. Die kommentierte Arbeit publiziert die Ergebnisse der ersten prospektiv randomisierten Studie zur Frage, ob Patienten in dieser Situation von einer adjuvanten RCT im Vergleich zur alleinigen adjuvanten RT profitieren. …
