A 21-day-old male neonate presented with a 3-day history of swelling over his left upper limb. Examination revealed a firm swelling, 3 × 4cm in size, over the proximal ventral aspect of his left forearm, and linear swellings over the medial aspect of his left upper arm. Subcutaneous calcification was evident on ultrasound and x-ray. His medical history was notable for asphyxia at birth, with the onset of seizures and hypocalcaemia on day 2 of age; hence, he had been treated with IV 10% calcium gluconate [dosage not clearly stated] for 4 days and discharged with oral calcium supplementation.
