We all know it, we have all experienced it, we have all seen it, and I would bet that we have all been afraid to report it for many reasons, the most important is the fear of retribution. Am I right? I think so. So I applaud the editor for publishing this relevant and important topic and further bringing such egregious behavior out of the closet (even though we have all been in the closet). We really need to develop ways of recognizing bullying, allowing and protecting those reporting this destructive behavior, and helping prevent further such behavior by the perpetrators, many/most of whom are often well known to be perpetrators but are often not disciplined, because they are often people of power and influence in the institution. …
