The author is to be complimented for recognizing the persistent problem with breast reduction techniques to date, including the problem of “bottoming out.” This phenomenon is the result of redundant breast tissue that has yielded to the forces of gravity and has settled into its natural location, the lower part of the inferior pole. There is no other place for it to go. The author’s technique presents us with a method for maintaining this lower pole tissue in an elevated location. …
