The benefits associated with guiding clinical management using germline genetic testing (GGT) contributed to the American Society of Breast Surgeons recommending universal testing for all breast cancer patients.1 Still, there are few reports of the real-world clinical utility of universal GGT for breast cancer. Patients with breast cancer living in rural communities face a number of barriers to cancer care, with higher mortality rates compared with those living in metropolitan areas.
