We were very interested in the article published by Casadeùs et al. [
1] which highlights the potential diagnostic value of histomorphometric digital analysis in cases of diving-related fatalities with pulmonary barotrauma. The use of advanced digital analysis techniques to examine lung tissue specimens can provide valuable information about the presence and extent of air space over-distension, which is a hallmark of pulmonary barotrauma [

3]. However, although the research is original and interesting, it has some weaknesses, including a small sample size, a narrow age range, and a lack of information on potential confounding factors that may influence the results. …
