Abstract
A technique of removing proximal humerus locking plates using an arthroscopic technique is described. Though technically demanding, benefits include smaller incisions, decreased risk of infection, and the ability to visualize and protect the axillary nerve throughout the course of the procedure. Furthermore, arthroscopy affords the surgeon with the ability to address concomitant intraarticular pathology at the time of surgery.
