Despite the fact that rotavirus gastroenteritis is currently considered to be the most common pediatric disease in the European Community, preventable by vaccination, specific data about the indirect economic burden generated by rotavirus in Europe are limited [9]. In Spain, economic data on rotavirus are even more limited, and its impact in terms of indirect costs is unknown [24]. …
