“Cellular Therapy 2013”: The 7th International Symposium on the Clinical Use of Cellular Products was held in Erlangen, Germany, on March 14–15, 2013, as joint endeavor between the Department of Hematology and the Department of Dermatology at the University of Erlangen and the Department of Hematology at the University of Regensburg. This year, it attracted 350 participants from 17 countries. In keeping with tradition, the sessions covered a wide variety of topics. 18 invited international speakers presented their current research in the fields of effector cells and their genetic modification, vaccination, and antigen-presenting cells, and, for the first time, in imaging of cellular therapy—a rapidly growing field involving multiple disciplines ranging from physics to radiology. In addition, the scientific committee selected 17 outstanding abstracts for short oral presentations. …
