Excerpt

Acute phlegmonous gastritis is a rare, rapidly progressive suppurative bacterial infection of the wall of the stomach. Two types are described, a diffuse type, in which the whole stomach is involved, and a localized type, in which a part of the stomach, usually the antrum, is affected [1] Without therapy, phlegmonous gastritis progresses to peritonitis and death. In the preantibiotic era mortality was as high as 92% [2]. However, mortality remained high even after antibiotics became available (64%) [3, 4]. Therefore, early recognition and treatment are mandatory. …

Keynote webinar | Spotlight on medication adherence

Live: Thursday 27th June 2024, 18:00-19:30 (CEST)

WHO estimates that half of all patients worldwide are non-adherent to their prescribed medication. The consequences of poor adherence can be catastrophic, on both the individual and population level.

Join our expert panel to discover why you need to understand the drivers of non-adherence in your patients, and how you can optimize medication adherence in your clinics to drastically improve patient outcomes.
