A Caucasian woman aged 61 presented to the Emergency Department with a one-week history of myalgia, fatigue and reduced urine output. Three months prior to presentation, she had been diagnosed with primary hyperthyroidism for which she was started on carbimazole 10 mg daily. She had no other relevant medical or family history, and denied the use of statins, alcohol or nutritional supplements. On examination, she showed signs and symptoms of dehydration but was haemodynamically stable. …
