Abstract

We report images of laparoscopic reduction for incarcerated internal hernia after HIFU ablation. High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation is a minimally invasive uterine-preserving treatment for uterine myomas. HIFU ablation can cause pelvic adhesions due to peritoneal inflammation by thermal effects. These adhesions made artificial defect, resulting in an internal hernia. The internal hernia was quickly recovered through laparoscopic surgery.
