Our journal’s content is composed of those submitted articles that pass the gauntlet of peer review. The review process is rigorous, and the two, three, or four reviewers of each article work anonymously with a firm time line without tangible reward, except publication of their names in a list of reviewers (see December issue). The benefit to the reviewers has been the privilege of reading about state-of-the-art concepts and utilizing their expertise to help improve the work. The reviewers become the student and frequently must think through their own preconceived notions. The reviewers learn about “new things” months before they are on-line or published in the journal. …
