A foreign body lodged in the rectum is not a common surgical emergency, and it is somewhat rare for a foreign body to penetrate the rectal wall [
1], but if this does occur and the object is not removed in a timely manner, there can be a variety of serious consequences [
2]. The removal of foreign bodies from the rectal wall poses a challenge to the surgeon. In this article, we introduce a new type of navigation device which can accurately identify the position of a foreign body in the rectal wall.
